[Buying] Drozd Blackbird
« on: December 08, 2015, 05:17:24 PM »
Been having my eyes on this bad boy for a long time, it seems like every now and then one pops up on Craigslist but I haven't been able to find one as of late.
I figured I mite as well post here in case someone has a spare one they don't actually need or for w/e reason are looking to sell theirs.
I'm looking to purchase either a new or used (in good condition), stock or already modded IZH Drozd MP-661K Blackbird.
Looking for a fair price, I would need it shipped to me (USA west coast).
Thanks :)

At one point your could still buy them from Canada.  You could try the below sources...

If you have success please post so others can join the fun.  Note all prices are in Canadian dollars, so the actual cost in US dollars is less. You'll likely have to pay an additional $30 or so in duty as well.

This last place is where I bought mine. Unfortunately, it did not come with advertised full auto chip, so if you order from them, I'd call and ask them to test fire it first to confirm or order elsewhere.

The only difference between the Canadian guns is the breech seal. The Canadian ones come with an amber colored design to allow some air to escape thereby reducing muzzle velocity to the legal limit. Replacing the breech seal with one of the below is all you'll need to do to restore its normal velocity.

I think Canada has dried up, but I could be wrong. There are some on Amazon, but they want a G for them! I sent you a PM because I have one I am willing to part with, but I am waiting to receive it. It comes with other goodies like an SB-2 that I can help you install. It also comes with Lipo 14500 batteries, and a charger. The best part is I don't want an arm, and a leg for the setup either.

It's good to hear from you. I just want to remind everyone I hit 4K with the Bumblebee you sold me. I applied for a world record with it. I heard back from Guinness today. Unfortunately it was not good news, but did not discount our achievement. Here is the email cut, and pasted.

Dear Mason Dawson

Thank you for sending us the details of your proposed record attempt for 'Fastest Fully Automatic BB Gun'.

Unfortunately, after thoroughly reviewing your application with members of our research team, we are afraid to say that we cannot accept your proposal as a Guinness World Records title.

While we certainly do not underestimate your proposal, we think that it is a little too specialised for a body of reference as general as Guinness World Records. Although we are not currently able to accept your proposal for a new record, we will keep your details on file and will let you know if our decision changes in the near future.

For information on what makes a record, we would advise before submitting an application to visit http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/FAQ/what-makes-a-world-record. This page will provide you with helpful information if you are thinking about breaking or setting a record.

Once again thank you for contacting Guinness World Records.

Kind regards,
Records Management Team

The Guinness Book of World Records forwarded your application for a record for "Fastest Fully Automatic BB Gun" to the staff of Airmachinegun.com.  After careful review it was determined that you have accomplished a notable world record for Fastest Fully Automatic BB Gun in .177 Caliber.  You will be recognized with that world record until it is broken.  Your accomplishment is hereby noted and will be registered with the other World Records kept by Airmachinegun.com, the official record keeper of all air-powered machine gun records.

Cogratulations on your accomplishment!  The official message will be located at another location on airmachinegun.com or the airmachinegun.com forum.

Congrats! That is cool.

We should make a list of the other categories and current record holders.

All this talk about banning guns because they are killing people....We should just make murder illegal and people will stop getting killed.
