Choreographing Co2
« on: December 01, 2015, 09:01:32 PM »
I don't have a problem measuring HPA, but recently I have not been able to Crony Co2. I have a Beta model. I mostly shoot indoors under florescent lighting. I always use the factory light kit. It seems to work fine using HPA, but when I try to measure Co2 velocities from 12 g cartridges I always get errors. I am not firing full auto, and backed away so the cloud would not be measured. Any thoughts?

"choreographing Co2"  ;D I think you meant "chronographing".

Florescent lighting will give you error readings when using photo sensor type chrony's. The florescent light tube flickers imperceptibly to the human eye. Best to use incandescent light or LED light inside. Try getting a couple of "puck" LED lights and stick them under the sun screens. That should do the trick.

All this talk about banning guns because they are killing people....We should just make murder illegal and people will stop getting killed.

I turn the flourescent overhead lights off to make sure I get good readings.  I use the Chrony light kit as well.  I have tried the LED puck lights, but found the ones I used also apparently flickered and caused read errors so I quit using them.

I tried 1 watt LED's off the bat under the diffuses. I wanted it to be more portable, but like TBK says they must flicker also (or at least the one's we tried). I know Sergey works with flickering LED's, and has come up with some cool toys that conserve energy, but appear just as bright. I haven't tried turning the lights out yet. I think I just figured it out. I had to move my Chrony because my wife needed the room in the bat cave to store silk cemetery flower arrangements. I must have had it in a good spot earlier that wasn't subject to the flickering. Cam! Continue reading... :)

As it turned out one of my diffuser lights was unplugged. Duh! Back to dancing.
