I was wondering if someone could add a repair section for Drozd. It would be a big help for the majority of us who don't have access to mill's, and lathes. I was just trying to find the thread where I am in the process of repairing a gun for being badly misaligned. I'm not sure where it is. Anyway this is today's progress from a PM to someone.
"Thanks. I finally ran into a gun that was so misaligned I snapped the end of the barrel off in the bushing trying to unscrew it. I tried to get it out with an Easy Out... Every time I use one of those f#$king things it makes me want to slap the $hit out of the SOB who coined the name. They should call them "If you need one of these you already know there is nothing that is going to be easy about what you are trying to do, and you will most likely render the part that is no longer available utterly useless when enough torque is applied." Fortunately I backed off before I broke it. I was able to drill the threaded part of the barrel out of the bushing without damaging the bushing threads. Then I took the valve out, and screwed on a new factory barrel. I looked down the barrel to see the valve body was sitting really low. I took some meat off the bottom of the bosses on the bushing, and bingo! Perfect alignment. I started to make a latch plate today, and am waiting on some screws to bolt it down."
