Drozd and Blackbird Discussion / Re: BlackBirds back in the US

Sorry bud. That pic is definitely not a new gun. A while ago he was offering $250 for used birds in any condition. I can tell because the cord on the mag is fatter than the newer ones. Try to put a Sergey's Board in there, and you will have to replace it because it will not stay in. Also the stock is from a Classic Drozd, or Bumblebee. Of course the fake suppressor is not there because he would rob them from the poly sealed boxes they came in as well as the piercing device to sell on Fleabay. Also his barrels are made of brass, and are prone to rupturing aside from being far less accurate, and powerful as the stock barrels. If anyone looked at this forum anymore they could confirm all of this.

If you need further confirmation check out these links. Same guy. You tell me why he is not on here defending himself. Tell me why he has been doing this for years, has only 31 sales on Ebay with %100 positive feedback. Tell me where his videos are.

WW, i have extra mag heads with the welded breach nut on them. If you want to give it a go, let me know and i'll send you one.
Correct, mag latch and alignment mods are no longer as imperative. I do still like to use a magnet on a set screw to keep the BBs from rolling out of the barrel.

Drozd and Blackbird Discussion / BB Feed Sleeve Mod.
« Last post by East Milford on April 23, 2017, 05:52:49 PM »
This is not necessarily a new mod but, i want to bump the idea to the present because ibe recently found it to have measurable gains. I chronographed this mod against the results of a previous mod, the (fixed mag head to breach mod) and the numbers were suprising. It picked up an additional 70fps average. I used a 25 shot string to get the data.

On to the mod. Its a 'sleeved BB feed tube' mod. Essentially it reduces the amount of 'blow by' that passes down the feed tube after the striker actuates the valve. Air propels the BB and follows it out the barrel. Additionally air will pass the chain of BBs in the feed guide and find its way out, this wasted air, albeit a small percentage is substantially enough to increase your velocity if it is redirected to it's intended path, the barrel.

To accomplish this i used a surgical  grade stainless steel syringe tube the outside diameter must be 5.00mm. The wall diameter of the tube  should be as thin as possible, mine was .050mm I believe.
It will press fit into the bottom of the mag head, that opening is 5.1-5.2mm, much larger than a BB.

Next i took a handfull of BBs and teat rolled them down the surgical steel tube, most all roll smoothly through it, but a couple would lightly bind up. So it was necessary to use a .177 BB barrel cleaning brush dipped in polishing compound to buff out/bore the tube so there are no hangups. I attached the barrel cleaning apparatus to a cordless drill and spun it for a while untill it was a mirror polish and no BBs would hang up.
Next i used a7mm  round ball diamond coated dremel bit to flare the end of the pipe just a tad bit, to assure a smooth transition of BBs into the tube. The length of tube i used was short but, it can be as long as you want to go, with attention that the feed channel eventually makes a curve.

Overall its a a simple mod with  a straightforward install. Anyone can do it. You will see that once BBs are in this tube it becomes nearly impossible to blow air through it. This is where the performance comes from, the escaping air is now forced to channel the path of least resistance, the barrel. Ultimately propelling the BB with the addition of the newly redirected air.

Here are some pics for reference
The BB 'feed tube sleeve ' and the 'fixed breach to mag  face' mod

Thanks to the guy who years ago used an antenna to stop the mag neck from 'puffing' by reducing the blow by. he gave  me the idea to pursue this further.  I think it was Dubb

I see Inova is selling Blackbirds again and Bumblebees
The birds are spendy. They also have barrels. Maybe it's
A move in the right direction but I'd like to see the price
Come down.

Very cool you are a talented guy. That eliminates the need for
a latch plate with that mod. I won't be trying that one any time
Soon I'm not that good at welding.

Drozd and Blackbird Discussion / 1060 FPS

Well i cronographed the BB after doing the "sealed breach mod," this involved welding a breach nut to the magazine to seal the air gap between the mag face and breach. The barrel now threads right to the bb exit hole. I cut the breach nut down to just a few threads so it slides into frame for easy removal . Before this mod i was getting 870ish fps on this particular build. So today i tested it out on a1500psi output Ninja reg.
The results were good. Some shots as high as 1070.

Never tried it, but I hear they are trustworthy. For that price you should consider this.

I have one of the best, and fastest for sale for $1350. It's the last one of these I have. Fresh build on a brand new CONCERN KALASHNIKOV. These are the highest quality I have seen, and I'll be sad to see it go. Alas... I need the cash.
