I did all that, too. But you know what I thought was the biggest issue is that the threads on these are machine cut, so no two are the same. When you screw the head on tight, the hole in the stem can end up anywhere in relation, not in line with the hole in the breech block. Their solution was to channel out a groove, all the way around the hole, between the seals, so that the air can get around to where ever the hole happens to be. I drilled a new hole in the right place that does line up with the hole in the block. And I drilled out that port in the block, too. I can see straight down the inlet port into the inside of my stem, now.

When mine did that, I just wired in an SPDT slider switch. It fit in the hole perfectly. It is a bit sensitive, though.

This is the same thing I did. I found an old telescoping radio antenna: it conveniently is an assortment of sizes in one package, and usually stainless steel. I used the piece that fit the best, which is pretty much the same as yours, it sticks in the bottom of the head. I like the polishing idea, too, I think I'll try that. I have all kinds of polishing compound. I just went though mine with 1000 grit sand paper, that worked well enough.

Yes! It was. We fires it along side of a 1050 Bird, it was distinctly different than the sub sonic Drozd.
I have other really bizarre reaults to mention. It would be great if someone could provide some clarity here.
I was using a Loather Walther barrel for some accuracy teats which yielded significantly better results than my JimC and Ray smooth bore barrels.
The Loather Walther barrel smooth bore but, the bore diameter is larger than both the JimC and Ray barrel.
A Daisey BB falls through it in about half a second I estimate. ABb rolls through the other two barrels in about 1.5-2 seconds. So the LW barrel is not as tight.
Now what i find bizarre is how much more accurate the LW barrel is. Its the same length, looser fitting
Yet far superior on target

This pic below was a target shot 10-12 times with the Loather barrel, at a few feet shy of 50 yards, with a green laser for sighting.
I wont even bother posting the target from the JimC and Other barrel because the BBs were so inaccurate that several didn't even hit the oaoer.

Does anyone have any clue as to why there is such a variance? All the barrels were newish, all smooth bore, all the same length basically......WHAT GIVES!??
You are shooting steel bb's, right? The JimC barrels are rifled, and really meant for shooting lead. I love shooting lead.
You did my bb feed tube mod? 100fps? I knew it! It also keeps the mag from puffing out when you shoot hpa.
I think Parallax hit the right note for breaking the sound barrier with HELIUM. That's what I want to try next.

Well since he brought it up I had to block him from email, and my phone about six months ago. Let's go there Chris now that you made it public. What do I need to apologize for?

Hello East Milford,

I stopped taking velocity readings early on in my builds. It wasn't very important to me how fast it shoots. I was more into what it can destroy. Heh! ;)
Also, I am not a huge fan of super fast RPM rates. I like to shoot at around 800 rpm. It feel more like a firearm at that rate, and is very satisfying to me (eh, ...to each his own).

As for accuracy, a "jelly bean" at 50' typically within one to three shots. I have thought about using Walther barrels, but never got around to it. I'm ok with my DrozdMax barrels Ray gave me years back.
