Title: Building and shooting air machineguns
Post by: TBK on October 03, 2015, 07:41:27 PM
This board is being set up for people that like to build and shoot air-powered machineguns of all kinds.  There will be places for helpful information for builders and tinkerers that should make finding information very easy.  There will be areas specific to certain air guns like the Drozd Blackbird, Caselman, Feltman, Tippmann, and others.

Please register to use the site.  Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Hi guys,
I was almost bankrupted when Drozdmax  (Ray) skipped out still owing me close to $7k and my CNC machining center went crazy (another $9k and 2 months downtime). Obama's embargo and my barrel blank supplier deciding to change their business plan didn't help either. I'm getting back on my feet now building a gun drill and barrel reaming machine and plan to have some new mods including a Superbird.

Cool.  How long of a barrel will you be able to make?

Looks like 24 inches using one of my existing lathes.

Hello Jim.

Interesting to hear about your dealings with Ray. Very sorry to hear that.
It is good to hear from you once again.

Looking forward to seeing your "Superbird"!

2015 is going to be an interesting year for air machineguns.

Hi guys. Glad to be here. I look forward to participating in bb machine gun development, and getting the airgun community to take us seriously. Thanks for doing this TBK.

Good to hear from you again Jim. I have some great "Superbird" domain names I can sell you LOL! I'm sorry to hear about your dealings with Ray, but I am glad you are still here, and haven't given up the game.

I am glad to have this going.  Good to have you here.  I think there will be some super neat stuff done over the next several years.

What is the "Superbird"?  Different look?  Bigger magazine?  Higher velocity?

I only have the "Hummingbird".  It is blazing fast...

Or what about my "Mousebird" and "Woodpecker"?!?!?!

I can't wait to see what you guys have been working on!   I am working on the magazines as of late.  I like the 6mm path, but I may be alone.  Also doing .177 for shooting lead balls.  Anyone have any leanings one way over the other?

You are not alone.

Excellent!  I did a new mag for 6mm for electric feed and spring feed.  This is continuing what I built about 5 years ago.  It is a pretty neat conversion for a drozd.   You may have seen the outrageous velocties and energy I got with a solenoid fired bolt action with air and helium.  I will start building up that data on this site so people can find it.  I hope a lot of the fellow airmachinegunners will start turning out some neat stuff!

TBK, we need to revisit some old ideas. Before I got the milling machine, my idea for the gear feed mechanism was too difficult to make work, but now....

I still think there will be a bunch of very interesting things happening real soon. Let's keep at it.
